Slightly elevated protein in blood. i’m diagnosed as prediabetic..my fasting glucose levels are 5.8. my total protein is 8.6, albumin is 4.5 and globulin is 4.1. do i need to consult any doctor for this elevated protein levels? i have consulted 2 general physicians and as per them if i control my glucose levels everything will be in limits..
Iron, serum was 258. glucose slightly high at 106 (range 65-100). alt (liver enzymes) was slightly high at 55, three weeks ago too. everything else normal. never had high iron beform that i am aware of. historically, over last 5 years, maybe 2-3 times liver enzymes slightly high. but later normal.. Davidhueben responded: it is certainly not inevitable that you will develop diabetes in the future. as you pointed out, your fasting glucose was only slightly elevated (normal levels being between 70 and 99). but, it does bear watching after future physicals. your doctor gave you the prudent advice. you might increase your exercise a bit..
